Range Safety Officer

Our Range Safety Officer course is conducted by our NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officer. The course spans 9 hours of instruction.

This course covers the duties of and need for the Range Safety Officer.
Some of those duties are:

  • Making inspections
  • Conducting briefings
  • Review and development of emergency procedures
  • Firearms safe handling
  • Firearms operation and use
  • Firearms and ammunition malfunctions
  • Range operations

Only Certified Instructors and Certified Coaches will be accepted as candidates for the Range Safety Officer course. Non-candidates may attend on a space available basis to audit the course (no certificate of training provided).

The Range Safety Training Officer course is scheduled at least once every 4 weeks; other times are negotiable. Cost of the course is reflected in the application form.

The Range Safety Officer class can be combined with the Instructor class, which must be extended by an additional 8 hours with no reduction in fee.
